Shoeman's Vise

Here is my new carving vise. This one I call it KING KONG because it will take just about everything that you would want to carve. I have spent a lot of time looking for a vise that would do exactly what I wanted it to do. It needed to be adjusted fast with little manipulation from position to position. I developed this vise and have modified it over the years. I have studied several vises on the market and took the best points from many and combined them into the best carving vise around. each one is made out of hard wood and will take a brutal pounding and still hold up. I use a 4 inch hard maple ball to ensure longevity with a 3/8 inch hanger bolt. Each one GUARANTEED and I will replace any that are defective, just send it back with S/H and I will ship you a new one. My address is attached to each one for rapid replies. I have used mine for over 5 years and haven't had any trouble with it. These are the hottest things at any carving convention I attend. These precise vises can be moved to just about any angle or position just by loosening and moving your work then tightening up the cam clamp. You don't event have to drop your knife to perform this task. Like I said, you just can't beat this vise! Once you use it, you will use it all the time! The best part of this vise is you can KEEP all your fingers BEHIND the blade ensuring you don't cut yourself. This is great for those of us on blood thinners and it keeps our doctors worry free! (Sorry the CLAMP doesn't go with it.)

This is the same style vise that was in the Wood Carving Illustrated Issue No. 29

This vise is made out of 1" dressed hard wood. 15" L x 4" W x 4" H with a 4" hard wood ball. I would say that this vise would handle a block of wood 8" x 8" at the base. You could do a full sized head of a person on it without any trouble. Something the size of a basketball.
